Installations

Step 1

Clear all items, moulding, frames etc...from the wall on which the new wall system will be installed. The wall must be level and plumb. Mark wall accordingly by snapping chalk lines. Attach top and bottom 1 x 4 furring strips. Distance from top strip to bottom one should be such that the bottom strip is flush with the bottom of extrusion M10L. Install strips equidistant from each other.

Step 2

Using drywall screws, attach top (M10L) & bottom (M10J) channels to furring strips. Place first screw 1-1/2 in. from each end, then 10 in. C.T.C.

Note: Top and bottom channels to be field cut, trimmed and mitered as required.

Step 3

Lift first end panel into top channel. Slide end panel over to snug up to end trim base (square panel edge). Trim cap will hold panel in place.

When run is complete, pull off trim caps and add a few drops of silicone or construction adhesive to make a secure bond between trim cap to base and panels.

After first panel is in place, lift up standard extrusion (M10C) into top channel then lower into bottom channel. Slide over to panel and engage in full length panel slot. Once in place, drill and secure using drywall screws.

Note: Repeat this operation for all standard extrusions.

The normal spacing between standards is 24in. on center. This spacing should be checked at each standard, as well as checking standard for plumb.

Continue installing each panel and standard as shown in the drawing. The end panels are those usually planned as cut to fit panels. The end panel can be cut square without edge detail and the trip cap will cover the cut.
